World Tea Expo in Las Vegas Quenches Thirst of Attendees Sunday, Jun 20 2010

This year’s World Tea Expo held last weekend in Las Vegas was a great experience. Most of the biggest names in the industry were there, offering up their wares for visual, olfactory and taste comparisons. I saw many intriguing blends and tasted a wide variety of new teas. Look for a few new flavors to appear on our website in the next couple of weeks!

In addition to tea, the Expo showcases tea accessories. One of my favorite new products is the Tea Squeeze by Squeezmo. It’s a nifty little silicone cup with a pour spout on one side that you place your wet teabag in and squeeze the teabag. You then pour the remaining tea in to your cup and drink away. Just make sure you haven’t over-steeped your tea or you could be adding bitterness back into your cup.

Rooibos Tea Wednesday, Mar 24 2010

Rooibos – pronounced “Roybus” sometimes spelled Rooibosch but pronounced the same, means red bush in Afrikaans. It is a wonderful caffeine free tea grown in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. It makes for a wonderful after dinner tea for this reason. It is high in antioxidants, too. The oxidized tea has a distinctive red color and is naturally sweet in flavor.
